Institute for Human Sensibility and Cultural Futures

At Soluna Institute, research begins not with an exhibition format, but with a question. Through sustained dialogue with artists, scholars, and practitioners, we investigate how artistic practice contributes to our understanding of human sensibility and cultural futures.

Each initiative develops through long-term research and may take the form of exhibitions, publications, public conversations, or collaborative projects. These are not separate activities, but different expressions of a single inquiry.

Our Method

Artist Research Dialogue

Every meaningful artistic practice begins with a question.

Artist Research Dialogue is Soluna's primary research methodology. Rather than interpreting completed works, we work with artists to identify the questions that give rise to their practice and develop those questions through research, dialogue, and public engagement.

Research Process

Question

Every initiative begins with a research question rather than an exhibition concept.

Dialogue

Through sustained conversations with artists, we uncover the ideas, experiences, and perceptions that shape their practice.

Research

The questions emerging from these dialogues are developed through aesthetics, philosophy, cultural history, and interdisciplinary research.

Public Form

Research is shared through exhibitions, publications, conversations, educational programs, and collaborative projects.
